Operation Kingscliff

Operation Kingscliff was an investigation into a Senior Executive Service officer in the Department of Home Affairs and her involvement in the transfer of the sister’s fiancé to Home Affairs under section 26 of the Public Service Act 1999.
The Commission found the official had engaged in corrupt conduct by abusing her office to give her sister and her sister’s fiancé an improper benefit, and by misusing official information.

Operation Elektra

Operation Elektra was a joint investigation by the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) with the Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Federal Police into Serco officers providing telephone services and official information to detainees in immigration detention centres.
On 1 July 2023, ACLEI was subsumed into the National Anti-Corruption Commission. In accordance with the transitional arrangements, the National Anti-Corruption Commissioner (the Commissioner) reviewed the evidence and completed the investigation report.
The Commissioner made 2 findings of corrupt conduct and the investigation resulted in 2 charges and 1 conviction.

Operation Wilson
Published 12 February 2025
Operation Wilson was a joint investigation with the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs), the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Victoria Police into an Australian Border Force officer’s connection with the importation of illicit tobacco. The investigation transitioned to the National Anti-Corruption Commission on 1 July 2023. In accordance with the transitional arrangements, the National Anti-Corruption Commissioner reviewed the evidence and completed the investigation report.
The investigation resulted in a guilty plea and 2 charges.

Operation Bannister

Operation Bannister was a joint investigation carried out by the Australian Commission into Law Enforcement Integrity (ACLEI) and the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs) into a former Home Affairs employee’s familial links to a contracted service provider. The investigation transitioned to the National Anti-Corruption Commission on 1 July 2023. In accordance with the transitional arrangements, the National Anti-Corruption Commissioner reviewed the evidence and completed the investigation report.
The investigation concluded that there was no corrupt conduct.
