Operational activity
As at 28 August 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (the Commission):
- is conducting 33 preliminary investigations
- is conducting 29 corruption investigations, including 8 joint investigations
- is overseeing or monitoring 16 investigations by other agencies
- has 7 matters before the court
- has 464 referrals pending assessment.
Over the period from 1 July 2024 to midnight Sunday 25 August 2024, the Commission:
- received 361 referrals
- excluded 310 referrals at triage stage
- progressed one new matter for prosecution
- closed one joint investigation following the decision to take no further action, when it was determined that corrupt conduct would not be found.
In addition, 3 agency investigations that the Commission was overseeing or monitoring were completed.
