These terms of use apply to NACC social media accounts – Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. In accessing, posting or contributing to our social media pages as an individual, entity or otherwise, you agree to abide by these terms of use.
Hours of use
We monitor our social media accounts during business hours, 8.30 am to 4.30 pm AEDT Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Privacy and legal considerations
When using our social media pages, please ensure you:
- protect your personal privacy by not sharing inappropriate personal information
- do not violate the privacy of others
- do not impersonate or falsely represent another person
- do not make unproven or unsupported accusations
- do not identify matters that are the subject of legal proceedings or would violate a court order
- do not make comments that are illegal or likely to impact NACC operations
- do not engage in or encourage conduct that may or would constitute a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability, or that otherwise violates any local, provincial, national or international law or regulation anywhere in the world
- do not abuse, harass or threaten others
- do not make defamatory or libellous comments
- do not incite hatred on the basis of any personal characteristic, including on the basis of race, gender, marital or domestic status, disability, sexuality or age
- do not post material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
- do not post multiple versions of the same view make excessive postings on a particular issue
- do not promote commercial interests
- do not include email addresses
- do not make comments that are irrelevant to the topic being discussed, including spam or links to appeals, petitions, offers, events, groups, pages, websites, organisations which are not related to the NACC.
NACC moderation and engagement
We reserve the right to remove, block or report any content or users that we consider to be in breach of our terms of use.
Where possible we will respond to posts that genuinely seek information in a timely manner, however we cannot comment on matters:
- being considered for investigation
- that may prejudice ongoing investigations
- that may come before, or are, before the courts
We do not engage in speculative commentary. All communications are factual and objective.
We do not respond to all individual comments. We may disable comments on some posts.
Non-endorsement
We do not endorse or support users’ comments, opinions or statements on NACC social media pages or made in response to NACC communications.
